Passenger Hospitalized After Foot Gets Trapped at North Quincy Station
The incident occurred on October 29 evening at North Quincy station as the passenger stepped off a train, the MBTA said. The agency issued an alert around 5:40 p.m. citing a medical emergency and delays on the Braintree Branch; the emergency was cleared in about an hour, officials said.
Passengers on the platform helped the rider while they waited for firefighters. Quincy firefighters freed the person and took them to a nearby hospital.
A video posted online depicted the rider’s leg wedged between the train and platform. A person who posted footage said other passengers pushed the train slightly to make room for the rider to free their leg.
The MBTA thanked the bystanders and Quincy Fire Department, and urged passengers to take care when boarding and exiting trains. Officials had not provided further details about the rider’s injuries by October 30 morning.
