Bills Could Target Titans Safety Amani Hooker
The Tennessee Titans could make more moves before the November 10 NFL trade deadline after sending defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons to Chicago. Safety Amani Hooker is among the players who could be dealt, giving the Buffalo Bills a potential option to strengthen a position where they have concerns about their current starters and depth.
Buffalo’s Cole Bishop has had a middling season, while C.J. Gardner-Johnson has struggled. Damar Hamlin and rookie Jalon Kilgore are the main alternatives, but neither is viewed as a proven starter. Hooker, who has played free safety, strong safety and in the slot, could offer both versatility and experience.
Hooker has two interceptions this season and 14 over his eight NFL seasons. He is under contract through 2028, with potential exits in the deal over the next two years. His run defense has been graded among the league’s top 10 safeties this season, and he has allowed a 70.1 passer rating on throws directed at him.
Tennessee received two first-round picks, a 2027 fourth-rounder and a 2028 fifth-rounder in the Simmons deal, and Hooker is viewed as a less costly potential acquisition. A fourth-round pick could be enough to interest the Titans, though the price would depend on how strongly they want to keep him. The Bills would need to weigh that cost against their need for a reliable safety.
