Jenny McCarthy Says Mold Detox Has Her Living in a Tent

On October 29, Jenny McCarthy said she was staying in a tent in her backyard while continuing a mold detox. She said fear of sleeping elsewhere had grown during what she described as a difficult health ordeal. The tent has a rainproof cover, which she said also protects it from sprinklers and what she called “chemtrails.”

McCarthy said a doctor diagnosed her with mycotoxin poisoning in December 2025. She described recurring infections around a root canal, eye problems that led to painful surgeries, skin rashes and food allergies. She also said she developed small intestinal bacterial overgrowth and had undergone numerous procedures during the broader health scare.

She said she was in the seventh month of detox and had remediated mold throughout her home, a process that cost tens of thousands of dollars. She said rebuilding the house and replacing furniture and clothing were also part of addressing the problem. McCarthy described herself as still experiencing trauma and paranoia related to the ordeal.

McCarthy is married to Donnie Wahlberg. In September, the couple listed their Illinois home, which they have owned for more than a decade, for $2.8 million.
