Jonathan Taylor Says He Has Not Sought Trade From Colts

Taylor addressed his future with the Colts on October 29, as speculation grew that he could be dealt before the NFL trade deadline on November 10. Indianapolis, 2-5 this season, traded guard Quenton Nelson to Seattle and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to San Francisco earlier in the week. The team also fired general manager Chris Ballard.

Taylor said he had not heard of any plans involving him and could not control the decision. He added that he was proud to be with Indianapolis, while recognizing that circumstances could lead to a departure. He also said he had not requested a trade and expressed regret that the team had not won with Nelson and Buckner.

The 27-year-old has rushed for 587 yards and eight touchdowns in seven games, along with 178 receiving yards. In August, he agreed to a new Colts contract lasting two seasons and worth $44 million. Teams linked to possible interest include Green Bay, New England, Denver, the New York Giants and Minnesota.

Taylor noted that he and owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon had talked, though he withheld what they discussed. Indianapolis is preparing to face Jacksonville on Sunday, while uncertainty over further roster moves remains ahead of the deadline.
