Packers’ Trade Needs Point to Offensive Line and Defensive Front
With the NFL trade deadline set for November 10, the Packers are weighing whether to add help as they try to improve their standing in the NFC North. Green Bay is 4-3 and sits last in the division, while several of its rivals have already made trades.
Offensive line is one potential focus. The Packers have used a changing group of players across the line, and a deal for Eagles guard Landon Dickerson has been floated as a way to add a proven interior blocker. Dickerson has spent all six of his NFL seasons in Philadelphia and has been named to three Pro Bowls.
Dickerson is currently sidelined by injury, so his health could affect whether Green Bay pursues him. The Eagles could consider moving him if they decide to sell, but a trade would depend on Philadelphia making him available and the Packers judging him ready to play.
Green Bay could also look for help at receiver, tight end or defensive tackle. The Packers’ receiving group has been affected by Jayden Reed’s placement on injured reserve, while injuries have reduced their defensive tackle depth. One assessment put defensive line help among the team’s biggest needs, but suggested patience at edge rusher as Micah Parsons approaches a return.
