Fox Entertainment Studios is working with Cottage Industry Entertainment, founded by Lisa Hamilton Daly and Alysia Cotter Thomas, on a slate of scripted television and feature-film projects. The partnership includes an adaptation of Danielle Steel’s novel The Whittiers, which Fox has optioned for a one-hour family drama. Writer Jordanna Fraiberg is attached, and the series is in development at a streaming platform.
The television projects also include Summer on Lilac Island, based on Lindsay MacMillan’s novel and set to be written by Delondra Mesa, and Mom’s Place, a comedy from Angela Kinsey and Audrey Wauchope. Another family drama from Fraiberg is also in development.
The film slate comprises a romantic comedy set in the world of hockey, from Sam Sklaver and Elizabeth Peterson; Adriana Trigiani’s adaptation of her novel about Lake Como; and an adaptation of Cynthia Hand’s The Afterlife of Holly Chase, with Tawnya Bhattacharya and Ali Laventhol writing.
Hamilton Daly previously led programming at Hallmark Media and held roles at Netflix, Lifetime and A+E Films. Cotter Thomas has worked at Paradigm, Warner Bros., Legendary Entertainment and Working Title. Fox’s head of scripted, Hannah Pillemer, praised the pair’s creative experience and audience focus.
