Toni Collette to Star in Apple TV Series Lenni

Toni Collette will lead Lenni, an Apple TV dramedy adapted from the Norwegian series Pernille, with production underway in Sydney, Australia, on November 4, 2026. The show centers on Lenni, a divorced mother of two who works in child welfare, balancing difficult cases with upheaval in her own family life.

The season follows Lenni as she takes on a new case that brings her work and personal life into conflict. The series is also described as a dark comedy and mystery about family, loss and relationships. Joining Collette are Wayne Blair, Arka Das, Genevieve Hegney, Celeste Barber, Josh McKenzie, Dan Wyllie and Ciaran Hinds.

Sarah Scheller adapted the series, and Dearbhla Walsh is directing. Both are executive producers, as is Collette. Made Up Stories and Keshet International are producing, with Pernille creator Henriette Steenstrup among the executive producers. The production has support from the New South Wales government, with funding from Screen NSW’s Made in NSW program.

The original Pernille, also known as Pørni, was created by Steenstrup and ran for three seasons on Viaplay. The final two seasons also aired on Netflix. Lenni is Collette’s latest television role; her previous credits include United States of Tara, The Staircase and Unbelievable.
