Lakers Send Bronny James and Cameron Carr to G League

On November 5, 2026, the Lakers assigned Bronny James and Cameron Carr to Coachella Valley’s G League squad ahead of its season opener against the Salt Lake City Stars, with the game taking place at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert. The move gives both players a chance for more playing time outside the NBA team’s rotation.

Carr, a 21-year-old wing and the Lakers’ No. 24 pick in June’s draft, had been sidelined for the team’s first six games with a strained right oblique. Since making his debut in a win over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, he has played four minutes in total.

Carr said on Wednesday that getting into a game felt good, and that he wanted to make contact and take part in a play to get comfortable on the floor.

James, the son of former Lakers star LeBron James, has not been part of the team’s rotation to start the season. He has played 12 minutes across five games, following a difficult preseason. The G League assignment gives both players an opportunity to see more action in the affiliate’s opener.
