Frontier Passenger Says Seat Dispute Led to Denied Refund

A Frontier Airlines passenger says they checked in online for an October 4 flight and were assigned seat 12D, but found their boarding pass showed a seat number of “0” at the airport. The traveler alleged that an airline employee said the seat had been assigned to someone else and that about 20 passengers were unable to board the allegedly overbooked flight.

The passenger said a gate manager offered a choice between rebooking and a full refund with a $250 flight voucher. They chose the refund and voucher, and said the manager assured them the arrangement had been processed. When neither had arrived weeks later, the traveler contacted customer service and was told they had been recorded as a no-show, according to their account.

The passenger disputed that designation, saying they had been at the gate trying to resolve the seat issue. Other commenters described similar seating or boarding problems, while some said they had received refunds or compensation at the airport. One suggested filing a complaint with the U.S. Department of Transportation if reimbursement remained unresolved.

Frontier has said it plans to begin installing Starlink internet on its Airbus aircraft in early 2027. The airline announced the planned service in July as part of efforts to improve its onboard offering. The passenger’s account of the October flight and refund dispute remains an allegation.
