Green Disputes Brooks’ Account of Suns-Warriors Clash
Draymond Green has disputed Dillon Brooks’ version that he was attempting to ease a confrontation during the Warriors’ matchup with Phoenix several days ago. Green was removed from the contest near the start of the second half after receiving two technical fouls.
The first technical came after Green threw down Suns rookie center Khaman Maluach. Brooks then approached Green, who grabbed Brooks’ jersey near the neck. Officials issued Green a second technical for the exchange.
Speaking on his podcast on November 5, Green said Brooks ran up to him and spoke aggressively, arguing that the approach did not fit an attempt to calm the situation. Green also criticized Brooks for later saying he had been “tweaking” throughout the game, saying nothing had happened earlier that would support that characterization.
Brooks had said he was trying to de-escalate the clash. Green rejected that explanation and said Brooks was acting in line with his “villain” persona. Green said Suns player Miles Bridges, rather than Brooks, was the one trying to ease tensions.
Green and Brooks could meet again when the Warriors visit Phoenix on December 28 and when the Suns play in Golden State on April 6, 2027.
