Robert Pattinson to Receive American Cinematheque Award

The award will recognize Pattinson’s roughly two-decade film career, including a busy 2026. American Cinematheque board chair Rick Nicita praised the actor’s range, creative choices and work with filmmakers, saying he has also reached audiences through major studio films.

Pattinson appeared in The Drama, The Odyssey and Primetime this year, and is set to appear in Dune: Part Three. Primetime was the first film from his production company, Icki Eneo Arlo. He is also filming The Batman: Part II, returning as Bruce Wayne and Batman.

His filmography includes the Twilight and Harry Potter franchises as well as The Lighthouse, Good Time, Mickey 17 and Tenet. The award gala will take place at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

Ryan Gosling had previously been selected for the 40th award, but a scheduling conflict led to the ceremony’s postponement from November 2. The annual gala raises funds for the nonprofit American Cinematheque and its ongoing film programs at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, the Los Feliz 3 Theatre and the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

Past recipients include George Clooney, Nicole Kidman, Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Eddie Murphy and Michael B. Jordan.
