Saints Rookie Jordyn Tyson Returns to Practice

Tyson, a rookie from Arizona State, took part in his first practice with the Saints since a preseason hamstring injury sidelined him for the first seven games of the regular season. He said he felt good and believed he was ready to return to action Sunday.

The receiver said his recovery involved rehabilitation, conditioning and strength work, alongside regular team meetings. He described the injury as resulting from contact with another player, rather than a hamstring pull while running. Tyson said he had reached his fastest running speed since joining the team and felt more explosive than before.

Tyson said the Saints’ trainers and strength staff had monitored his workload as he built back toward game readiness. He also said the time away gave him a chance to adjust to the professional game and learn from teammates.

Quarterback Tyler Shough checked in on Tyson during his recovery and helped keep him connected with the team, the rookie said. Tyson said he was eager to play alongside his teammates and contribute as a receiver and blocker.
