Savannah James balances family life across four cities

Savannah James said her family’s new arrangement has made planning difficult, as she works to support her husband and three children in different cities. She spoke about the changes during an appearance on Keke Palmer’s podcast, published on November 3. “I have to figure out how to be three places at once,” she said.

LeBron James plays for Philadelphia but lives in New York and travels to the team’s city. Savannah remains in Los Angeles with their daughter, Zhuri, and son Bronny, who plays for the Lakers. Their other son, Bryce, attends the University of Arizona in Tucson and plays basketball there.

Savannah said New York would serve as a central meeting point for her and LeBron. She described the travel and coordination as stressful to contemplate, especially when a change in one part of her schedule can disrupt the rest of her day.

The couple discussed the possibility of Zhuri moving east, but she chose to stay in Los Angeles for school, volleyball and time with friends and teammates. Savannah said she and LeBron accepted that choice and would visit. Zhuri, who recently turned 12, attended LeBron’s first Philadelphia home game with her mother.

Savannah also reflected on turning 40 and said she feels more comfortable with the family’s changes than she might have several years ago. She expects the transition to take adjustment, but said she believes the family will make it work.
