The 2027 ballot spans pop, rock, country, hip-hop, Latin and R&B. Among the performing-songwriter nominees are Lady Gaga, Shakira, Jack White, Boy George, Pink, Sia, Vince Gill, Ne-Yo, Grandmaster Melle Mel and Blondie members Debbie Harry and Chris Stein. The list also features the teams behind Boy Meets Girl, Stock Aitken Waterman and Stargate, as well as Maurice Starr, Tom Douglas and Pete Bellotte. Some nominees, including Starr, Gill, Douglas, George, alongside Blondie and America members, have appeared on previous ballots.

Eligible voting members can select as many as three nominees in each of the two categories. Ballots are due by December 14, 2026. The hall, founded in 1969, considers songwriters eligible 20 years after the commercial release of a song in their catalog. It plans to reveal the 2027 inductees in early 2027; the 2026 class included Taylor Swift, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, Alanis Morissette and Kenny Loggins.
