Thompson’s Late Three Lifts Heat Past Clippers in Overtime

Klay Thompson’s three-pointer with a second remaining in overtime completed Miami’s comeback for a 117-116 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on November 4. The Heat had trailed by 20 in the second quarter and were still down 10 with four and a half minutes left in regulation before launching a 9-0 run.

Bam Adebayo led Miami with season highs of 35 points and 10 rebounds. Thompson scored 30 points, making eight of his 17 attempts from beyond the arc, while Giannis Antetokounmpo added 27 points, 14 rebounds and six assists.

The win was Miami’s third in four games after it opened the season with four consecutive losses. The Heat’s late rally forced overtime, where Thompson’s shot settled the game.

Darius Garland led Los Angeles with 26 points and seven assists. The Clippers have now lost seven straight after opening their season with a win over Sacramento on October 21.
