Alexander-Walker leads Hawks past Wizards

Alexander-Walker made six 3-pointers to pace Atlanta, which won even though Jalen Johnson sat out for the second game in a row while recovering from a left ankle sprain. Onyeka Okongwu contributed 14 points and 16 rebounds, while CJ McCollum and Aaron Wiggins had 15 points apiece. Washington’s Anthony Davis scored 26 points and collected 10 rebounds; Kyshawn George added 25.

Atlanta took control with a 13-0 run in the second quarter, opening its largest lead at 16 points. Washington trimmed the margin to seven by halftime, then got within four twice in the third. Young’s step-back 3 made it 83-79.

Corey Kispert, whom Atlanta acquired in the deal that sent Young to Washington, answered with a four-point play. The Wizards did not get closer than six after that, and the Hawks held on for the 120-105 win. Atlanta and Washington are scheduled to meet again Friday in Atlanta in an NBA Cup game.
