93.9 Lite FM to Switch to Christmas Music Thursday

93.9 Lite FM will replace its current playlist with nonstop Christmas music at about 3 p.m. on November 5. The Chicago station is making the seasonal switch for the 26th year and will make the change in an ad-free program originating at the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry.

The station teased the announcement earlier this week. Morning host Melissa Foreman appeared in a coat, scarf and Christmas hat while holding signs, including one hinting that she had trouble keeping secrets, and urged listeners to tune in for the announcement.

The station’s holiday music will be available over the air, online and through the iHeartRadio app. In recent years, the switch has happened as early as November 1, including in 2022 and 2024. The 2025 start was November 4, which had been the latest start until this year’s planned November 5 change.
