Police Seek Suspect in Fatal Philadelphia Salon Attack

Police say Jamal Pistoria attacked three women at ABBA Blessed Beauty Salon on the 6300 block of Stenton Avenue in Philadelphia on November 2. Ofelia Bellaniri Hernandez Camilo, 34, was shot and later died at a hospital. Two other women, ages 33 and 44, were assaulted, police said.

Deputy Police Commissioner Frank Vanore said the suspect pistol-whipped the two women and sexually assaulted one before leaving. Police said they did not know what motivated the attack. Pistoria is expected to face charges including murder, sexual assault, indecent assault, attempted murder and robbery.

Police identified Pistoria as a suspect on November 4 and urged anyone who knows where he is to come forward. He could remain around West Oak Lane and may often visit the 1500 block on Tulpehocken Street. Police described him as 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
