Perez Hilton Moves to Next Stage of Mental Health Treatment

Perez Hilton has moved into a partial hospitalization program while living in supportive housing, his family and team said in an update posted on his website on November 3. The 48-year-old blogger continues to receive mental health care after an incident during a livestream in August in which he appeared to harm himself. He was hospitalized after emergency responders in Florida received calls from viewers; his family said at the time he had lost a significant amount of blood and needed surgery.

His loved ones said he has had chances to visit with his children during approved visits, including at a gathering for his mother’s 73rd birthday. The family described recovery as requiring continued time, care and support, and said there is no confirmed date for Hilton to leave treatment, though they hope that point is getting closer.

Hilton’s three children are doing well and keeping up with school and other activities, the update said. They also celebrated Halloween while their father remained in treatment. The family thanked supporters for their messages and said its priority is allowing Hilton to focus on care and progress.
