Michael Mann Seen on Crutches After Accidental Gunshot Injury

Michael Mann was seen in Los Angeles on November 3, three days after he was injured in an accidental shooting at an indoor gun range. The 83-year-old director walked with crutches, and his left foot was in a cast and a black orthopedic boot. He was also photographed departing what seemed to be a bone specialist’s office.

Mann was taken by ambulance to a hospital after the October 31 incident at The Range LA, a private shooting club in the city’s western area. Police said he accidentally discharged a firearm during training. He had been trying to holster the weapon when it fired, according to a source familiar with the incident.

Mann’s representative described the wound as superficial and said he was being treated and would be released. Mann, an experienced target shooter, is known for directing Heat and is preparing a prequel to the 1995 film. The upcoming project is in pre-production, with filming expected to begin in January.
