Timberwolves Add Norchad Omier, Waive Injured Enrique Freeman

Minnesota brought Omier back on a two-way deal after he spent training camp with the Timberwolves and appeared in six preseason games. Freeman was waived to make room; he is expected to miss several weeks with an injury.

Omier, 25, played 38 games in the G League last season for the Cleveland Charge and San Diego Clippers. He averaged 18.3 points and 11.4 rebounds per game, shooting 59.2% from the field. He was named to the G League All-Rookie Team and finished third in voting for the league’s Rookie of the Year award.

The 6-foot-5 forward also played six NBA games for the Los Angeles Clippers during the 2025-26 season. Minnesota had waived him on October 17, after his preseason stint. His rebounding and finishing around the basket give the Timberwolves another frontcourt option to assess.

Freeman, who is 6-foot-7, averaged 16.5 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists for Minnesota’s G League affiliate, the Iowa Wolves, last season. He also appeared in four games for the Timberwolves, recording 13 points and 10 rebounds. Minnesota re-signed him on October 28, six days before waiving him again.

The move gives Omier an opportunity to continue with Minnesota while Freeman focuses on recovering. The team could consider Freeman again once he is healthy, but no future agreement has been announced.
