Peak Design adds wireless chargers, battery and cables
Peak Design introduced a new range of charging products on November 3, expanding beyond its bags and tripods into batteries, wireless chargers, power adapters and cables. The company says its aim is to bring more considered design and durable materials to everyday electronics.
The $99.95 Wireless Kickstand Travel Battery has a 5,000mAh capacity, an aluminum magnetic housing and a folding stand. Peak Design calls it the first Qi2.3-certified wireless charger. It can charge compatible devices wirelessly at up to 15W when running on its battery; connected to USB power, it supports up to 25W. The battery comes in black and cream.
Also priced at $99.95, the Wireless Charging Station 2-in-1 has two Qi2.2 pads, each capable of up to 25W, and folds flat for travel. Its construction combines die-cast aluminum and zinc. The $64.95 Dual Slim Charger uses GaN technology and provides up to 65W across two USB-C ports. New UltraStrand cables range from $24.95 to $39.95, with different lengths and power and data-transfer capabilities.
The chargers do not include a power adapter. Most products are available to order starting November 3, while the travel battery and some cable lengths are due November 5. Global availability is expected in mid-November.
