Giants Face Philadelphia Test After Bye

New York returns from its bye to face the Eagles, then hosts the Washington Commanders on a short week. Both games carry division tiebreaker implications: the Giants can widen their advantage over Philadelphia and, after tying Washington in their first meeting, claim the head-to-head edge with a win. A demanding run of games follows, including matchups with Jacksonville, San Francisco, Seattle, Cleveland and Detroit.

The visit to Philadelphia also brings a long-running obstacle. The Giants have lost 13 straight games at Lincoln Financial Field, last winning there on October 27, 2013. Their latest defeat at the stadium was a 38-20 loss in 2025. Harbaugh said he was unaware of the streak, joking that it was a losing record he could have done without inheriting.

The Eagles enter on a six-game skid and are listed at 2-6. They have lost quarterback Jalen Hurts for the rest of the season, while running back Saquon Barkley is dealing with an injury. The Giants are favored by 1.5 points on the road, though their history in Philadelphia makes the matchup a notable test.

New York is 4-2-1 under Harbaugh and comes off a bye. Harbaugh’s teams have gone 15-3 in games after a bye, including his years in Baltimore. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy has also shown promise: across Weeks 6 and 7, he completed 63.3% of his passes for 495 yards, averaging 10.1 yards per attempt.

The Giants are monitoring several players returning from injuries, including left tackle Andrew Thomas, right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor and punter Jordan Stout. Cornerback Greg Newsome II, tight end Theo Johnson and safety Tyler Nubin are also expected back. The NFL trade deadline is November 10, leaving the team a brief window to consider roster moves before it turns to the rest of its schedule.
