Sean Combs’ Release Date Moved Up to February 2028

Combs’ scheduled release date has shifted forward again, from March 2, 2028, to February 6, 2028. The reason for the latest change has not been explained. Earlier scheduled dates included January 21, February 5 and February 20, 2028.

The 56-year-old rapper was moved from the federal prison at Fort Dix, New Jersey, to Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania in October 2026. He is being held with the general population at Allenwood, a union official for federal prison employees said.

The transfer followed allegations of problems at Fort Dix, including an alleged fight involving Combs and fellow inmate Christopher “Dudus” Coke. The Federal Bureau of Prisons denied that a fight took place. Combs’ spokesperson said the circumstances of the alleged incident had not been independently verified.

There were also claims that Combs had access to a contraband phone and alcohol while at Fort Dix. Prison officials conducted raids and confiscated phones from inmates after those claims surfaced. The Bureau of Prisons has declined to discuss individual inmates’ housing conditions, citing privacy and security.

A jury found Combs guilty of two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution and acquitted him of racketeering and sex trafficking charges. He was sentenced in October 2025. His spokesperson has said Combs’ safety is important, while noting there was no specific reason to believe he was at risk.
