Khalil Mack Trade Talk Grows After Chargers’ Seventh Loss
Mack said he was trying to focus on the present amid the trade chatter. The 35-year-old linebacker has been linked to the Bears, where he played from 2018 to 2021, as Chicago continues looking for help at edge rusher. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said the Bears were still making calls and that a reunion was possible.
The Chargers had reportedly resisted trading Mack, but their latest defeat left them 0-7, prompting fresh questions about whether they might move players before the November 10 deadline. Mack is in the final year of his contract, and a deal could give him a chance to join a team with championship ambitions, the reports said.
One proposed trade would send Mack and a 2027 fifth-round pick to Chicago for a 2027 third- and sixth-round pick. The same report outlined two other hypothetical deals: one sending Mack to Buffalo in a multi-player exchange, and another pairing him with two former Ravens in a proposed move to the New York Giants. These are suggested scenarios, not confirmed negotiations. The Chargers’ reported reluctance to sell remains a potential obstacle.
