Fire Spreads Between Two Homes in Northwest Atlanta

Atlanta firefighters responded shortly after 4 a.m. on November 2 to a fire in the 2400 block of Burton Road NW. Flames extended from the back of one home into its attic and reached a nearby house, officials said. Crews called for a second alarm, with at least nine fire engines sent to the scene.

Firefighters searched both homes for anyone who might be inside. They put out the fire at the neighboring residence and brought the blaze at the first home under control. No injuries were reported.

Crews remained briefly to deal with hot spots. Officials had begun investigating the cause of the fire, which had not yet been determined.
