Tatum and George lead Celtics past Magic for fifth straight win
The Celtics improved to 5-1 with a 108-97 road win over the Magic on November 1, their fifth consecutive victory. Tatum led Boston with 32 points and seven assists, while George scored 17 and had eight assists. Boston also got 12 points apiece from Luka Garza and Derrick White.
Orlando, playing without Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs, was led by Anthony Black and Tristan da Silva, who each scored 23. Wagner contributed 14 points and dished out 12 assists, his best career total. The Magic fell to 2-4 and remained winless at home.
Boston opened the second half with a 14-4 run to go up 69-54, but Orlando rallied behind da Silva’s three-point shooting and tied the game early in the fourth. The Magic later closed within four, at 97-93, before Tatum hit two jumpers and George made a three-pointer with 1:32 left to help seal the win. Neemias Queta blocked two shots in the final minutes.
Tatum briefly left the game late in the first quarter after colliding heads with Orlando’s Jamal Cain and suffering a cut. He returned in the second quarter. The Celtics shot 27.3% from three but made four of nine attempts from beyond the arc in the fourth.
Boston next visits Houston on November 2. Orlando hosts Washington that night.
