Fresno State Ends Oregon State’s Winning Streak With 38-22 Victory

Fresno State ended Oregon State’s five-game winning streak with a 38-22 win on October 31 in Fresno, California. The Beavers had not lost since their first two games of the season, while the Bulldogs came in after consecutive defeats.

Quarterback Jayden Mandal connected with Josiah Freeman for two touchdown passes and scored twice on runs. Freeman’s 26-yard reception put Fresno State ahead by 12 at halftime, and his 31-yard catch in the third quarter extended the lead. Bryson Donelson added 108 rushing yards and a touchdown, including a 63-yard run that was Fresno State’s longest of the season.

Oregon State quarterback Braden Atkinson completed 33 of 59 passes for 373 yards. His nine-yard touchdown throw to Eric Olsen came with 1:45 left. The Beavers also had two fumbles, went without a conversion on three fourth-down attempts and scored fewer points than in any other game this season. Fresno State’s defense recorded five sacks, with Dylan Hampsten getting two.

Oregon State, now 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the Pac-12, is set to host Texas State next Saturday. Fresno State, also 5-3 and 2-2 in conference play, visits Utah State.
