Arizona Receiver R.J. Mosley Carted Off With Leg Injury
Mosley was injured late in the third quarter after catching a short pass on third-and-18. Texas Tech cornerback Amier Boyd made the tackle, and Mosley reached toward his left knee before lying down. Medical staff attended to him, then took him from the field by cart as teammates gathered around him and the crowd cheered.
Mosley remained on campus for X-rays on a lower-body injury. ESPN aired no footage replaying the tackle. Arizona quarterback Noah Fifita prayed while Mosley received attention.
The reception was Mosley’s first of the game. Before facing Texas Tech, he had six catches for 99 yards this season. Arizona was already without receiver Tré Spivey, whose season ended because of a fractured foot; Giovanni Richardson and Chris Hunter had also missed time but were playing against Texas Tech.
Mosley is a freshman who joined Arizona after playing at Pittsburg High School in California. In his senior season, he recorded 82 catches for 1,302 yards and 14 touchdowns. Arizona entered the game ranked No. 22, with a 6-1 record and five consecutive wins.
