Security Guard Fatally Shoots Knife-Wielding Suspect at Waldorf Bar

Deputies were called to the Cut Bar & Restaurant, located on Business Park Court, early on October 31 after a stabbing and shooting call. Investigators said an argument between two men turned violent when William Pierre Strong, 41, of Waldorf, brandished a knife and menaced the other man.

A private security guard at the bar intervened and tried to take the knife. During the struggle, Strong stabbed the other man in the abdomen. As Strong appeared to try to stab him again, the guard fired once, hitting Strong in the chest.

Strong left the establishment before falling in the parking lot. Deputies found him, still gripping the blade, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics treated the stabbed man for injuries that did not appear life-threatening.

The confrontation’s cause and whether the men knew each other were not disclosed. The victim and security guard have not been publicly identified. The sheriff’s office said its investigation is ongoing and that detectives will submit their findings to the Charles County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.
