Cheltenham Man Arrested in Backyard Lewdness Case
Police arrested Jonathan Kolman, 31, on October 29 after investigating an alleged lewd act in a Cheltenham Township backyard earlier in the month. He faces charges of indecent exposure, open lewdness, loitering and prowling.
Investigators said surveillance footage showed a man walking through a backyard near 8000 Old York Road early on October 22, with his pants down. The video allegedly showed him continuing the behavior as he went along a nearby alley and left the camera’s view.
The homeowner who contacted police did not recognize the person, according to Cheltenham police Lt. Andy Snyder. Police identified Kolman during their investigation and took him into custody.
Authorities said Kolman was on parole stemming from two earlier open lewdness convictions. The charges in the current case relate to the October 22 incident.
