Pardoned Capitol rioter faces sexual misconduct charge in Michigan
Nathan Adam Thornsberry of North Branch faces a third-degree criminal sexual conduct count in connection with an August 12 massage appointment at a spa in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The charge carries a potential sentence of up to 15 years in prison. He was booked into Oakland County Jail on October 29.
Prosecutors allege Thornsberry touched the client’s private areas and inserted one finger into her. They say she told him to stop, but he continued touching her while withdrawing his hand. The spa’s name has not been disclosed.
Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said clients should be able to expect professional treatment and alleged Thornsberry violated the trust involved in his role. The charge is an allegation.
Thornsberry was also charged in 2024 in connection with the assault at the U.S. Capitol on January 6. Those charges, which included felony civil disorder and resisting police, were dismissed after President Donald Trump issued a broad clemency order for January 6 defendants. Thornsberry had been accused of joining an effort to bring down a police barricade.
