Eight Indicted in Alleged $7 Million SNAP Fraud Scheme
The defendants allegedly used real and fictitious deli and grocery business names to create payment-processing accounts and obtain point-of-sale systems capable of handling Electronic Benefits Transfer transactions. Prosecutors say they used stolen card numbers and PINs—often gathered with skimming devices—to make duplicate cards and withdraw benefits soon after they were deposited.
