Bob Tallman to Lead 2027 Houston Rodeo Parade

On October 29, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo announced that Bob Tallman will serve as grand marshal for its 2027 Downtown Rodeo Parade. For 45 years, Tallman has announced the event, welcoming fans with his signature “Hello, Houston!” and narrating the rodeo’s action and stories.

The parade will take place Saturday, February 27, before the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo opens on March 2. After the Rodeo Run, the procession is due to get underway at 10 in the morning and cover 1.5 miles through downtown. The event signals the beginning of the Rodeo season.

The Houston tradition, now 89 years old, brings together floats, horseback riders, mounted organizations, marching bands and rodeo volunteers. Rodeo president and CEO Chris Boleman said Tallman’s devotion to rodeo and dedication to Western heritage mirror the event’s traditions, and described his selection as a meaningful way to launch its 95th season.

Tallman became part of the RODEOHOUSTON Hall of Fame’s inaugural class in 2024. His career encompasses nearly 15,000 rodeo performances across the U.S., as well as Mexico, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. He entered the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 2004 and has earned the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s Announcer of the Year honor 12 times.
