Starz Revenue Rises as Quarterly Loss Narrows

Published October 29, 2026: Starz said revenue for the three months ended September 30 reached $322.4 million, up from $320.9 million a year earlier. The result exceeded the $319.5 million analysts had expected. Its net loss narrowed to $34.8 million from $52.6 million in the same quarter of 2025.

Streaming revenue rose 1.7% year over year to $226.6 million. Linear television and other revenue fell to $95.8 million from $98.1 million. Starz said increased distribution revenue partly offset that decline, following the July premiere of Fightland, Starz's first original series after its split from Lionsgate.

The company also pointed to the August arrival of Michael on the service. Starz said the film became its best-performing Pay 1 title, a category for programming made available after its theatrical run, and helped attract and engage subscribers. The quarter also included the season-ending episode of Power Book III: Raising Kanan and a second season of Outlander: Blood of My Blood.

Starz recorded adjusted operating income before depreciation and amortization of $44.2 million. Its operating loss included an $8.3 million net benefit from lower programming termination fees and content impairment charges, partly offset by severance and other costs. The company expects its 2026 cash content spending to be below $600 million.

CEO Jeffrey Hirsch said the company’s programming strategy was building a more durable revenue base and that Starz was starting to realize benefits from owning more of its content. The company was scheduled to discuss the results with analysts at 5 p.m. ET.
