Robert White could resign from DC Council due to legal technicality
On October 28, 2026, D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb recommended that Democratic delegate nominee Robert White resign from his at-large D.C. Council seat before the November 3 election because a 1970 law bars delegates from holding another paid public office on Election Day. White is exploring legal options to challenge the law and says he wants to preserve residents’ representation until election results are certified.
