Lendeborg powers Warriors to first win with 31-point night

The Warriors improved to 1-3 with the road victory, avoiding their first 0-4 start since the 2007-08 season. Golden State shot 54.1% from the field and made 22 of 44 three-pointers, while winning the rebounding battle 50-36. The team led by 21 late in the game, after scoring 74 points in the second half to Denver’s 54.

Lendeborg, a rookie forward selected 11th in the 2026 draft, also recorded six assists. He made nine of 19 shots and 12 of 13 free throws. It was his fourth NBA game, and his scoring total was a career high. He said he had initially worried about struggling, but became more aggressive after seeking advice from Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

Curry scored 24 points, making all eight of his shots, including three from beyond the arc. He scored 21 points after halftime. Brandin Podziemski added 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists; Golden State outscored Denver by 33 points during his time on court. Curry, Green and Podziemski had returned after sitting out the previous game.

Denver’s Nikola Jokic finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and 11 assists. Aaron Gordon scored seven points before leaving after receiving two technical fouls in the fourth quarter. DeMar DeRozan led Denver with 21 points.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr praised Lendeborg’s skill and strength, and said the team trusted him with the ball during key stretches. Golden State visits Minnesota on October 28. Denver also plays on the road that night, against New Orleans.
