Louisville routs Georgia Tech to secure bowl eligibility
Tre Richardson scored twice and gained 101 yards overall as Louisville claimed a 44-17 win over Georgia Tech at Bobby Dodd Stadium on November 7. The Cardinals improved to 6-3 overall and 5-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, while Georgia Tech fell to 2-7 and 1-5. The loss was the Yellow Jackets’ third in a row and ensured they would finish below .500 for the first time since 2022.
Louisville quarterback Lincoln Kienholz threw for 182 yards and ran for 81, completing 17 of 25 passes. He connected with Richardson and TreyShun Hurry for first-half touchdowns. Richardson also scored on a 52-yard end-around, and Isaac Brown added an 11-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, his 10th score of the season.
The Cardinals have scored at least 34 points in each of their four straight wins and have reached 27 or more points in every game this season. They remain within one loss of Wake Forest in the ACC standings, with Miami and Wake Forest currently holding the conference championship game spots. Louisville is among several teams with two league losses.
Georgia Tech coach Brent Key rotated Alberto Mendoza and backup Grady Adamson at quarterback during the first half. Each threw a touchdown pass, but the Yellow Jackets struggled to sustain their offense. Louisville visits North Carolina on November 14, while Georgia Tech travels to Clemson that day.
