Harris County Deputy Arrested at Galveston Rally

Walter, 29, was lodged at the Galveston County Jail after his arrest during the rally. The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office confirmed he works for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and faces three charges: evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest, search or transport.

Authorities alleged Walter fled on a motorcycle when Galveston County officers tried to stop him. His bond was set at $10,000 for the evading charge, $1,500 for the DWI charge and $1,000 for resisting, for a total of $12,500.

Walter was released from custody on the morning of November 7 after posting bond. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office had not provided further information about the arrest.
