Blue Angels Remove Pilot Scott Laux From Team

On November 7, 2026. The Navy has removed Marine Corps Maj. Scott Laux from the Blue Angels, saying he did not satisfy the expectations set for members of its flight demonstration unit. Laux will not take part in the team’s remaining performances this season, according to a spokesperson for the Chief of Naval Air Training.

Officials have not identified the specific reason for the decision or said when Laux was removed. His photograph and biography appeared to have been taken down from the Blue Angels’ official website. Authorities have not publicly connected his departure to any disciplinary claim or flight-safety event.

Laux was absent as the squadron performed at the Homecoming Air Show at Naval Air Station Pensacola on November 6 and 7. The event marked the base’s 200th anniversary and the team’s final show of the year. The Blue Angels flew five jets rather than their usual six.

A native of Chantilly, Virginia, Laux completed his studies at the U.S. Naval Academy in 2012 and received his naval aviator wings in 2015. He became a Blue Angels member in 2024, served as the team’s narrator in 2025, and later took on the role of opposing solo pilot, flying the No. 6 jet.
