Boise State Hosts Butler in First Major Test

Boise State will face Butler on November 8 in a non-conference matchup that marks the Broncos’ first major test of the 2026-27 season. The game is scheduled for noon Mountain time at ExtraMile Arena and will air on USA Network, with streaming available through YouTube TV. Nate Gatter will handle play-by-play and Ernie Kent will be the analyst.

The Broncos opened their season with a 132-53 win over West Coast Baptist on Wednesday, setting program single-game records in several categories, including points and field goals made. Boise State coach Leon Rice called Sunday’s contest a strong opportunity and praised Butler’s start under new coach Ronald Nored.

Butler has won its first two games, including a 99-65 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday. The Bulldogs made 20 three-pointers in that game, matching a program record, and Asim Djulovic scored 25 points. Nored, a former Butler player, took over after Thad Matta retired following last season.

Boise State beat Butler 77-68 last season at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Broncos are favored by 8.5 points for Sunday’s game. After hosting Butler, Boise State will play Oakland at home on Wednesday to finish a three-game stand at ExtraMile Arena.
