Harris Leads Indiana Past Bellarmine With Career-High 23
Darren Harris delivered his strongest game yet for Indiana, scoring 23 points in the Hoosiers’ 92-69 victory over Bellarmine in Bloomington on November 5. He connected on five 3-pointers, while Bryce Lindsay added 15 points and Aiden Sherrell and Sam Alexis scored 12 apiece. Indiana improved to 2-0; Bellarmine fell to 0-2.
Lindsay scored nine points as Indiana opened a 22-7 advantage. Harris then helped fuel a 10-2 run that stretched the margin to 24 by halftime. Bellarmine remained at least 10 points behind for more than 31 minutes, and Lindsay’s layup late in the game gave Indiana its largest lead, 84-54.
The Hoosiers shot 50% from the field, hit 12 shots from beyond the arc and held a 21-6 edge in second-chance points. Sherrell contributed on defense as well, with two blocks before halftime and a second-half steal that led to a layup. Freshman Trevor Manhertz scored nine points on four shots and collected five rebounds. Markus Burton, who had scored 19 in Indiana’s opener, finished with two points, four assists and no turnovers.
Bellarmine is scheduled to visit Miami (Ohio) on Saturday. Indiana’s next game is against Syracuse on Monday in Indianapolis.
