Police Return to Home in Brooke Hanlon Homicide Investigation

Law-enforcement activity resumed at the Pottersville Road home on November 4, when neighbors saw at least 15 vehicles at the property. Police remained there until about 11 p.m., and Conor Hanlon, Brooke’s husband, was seen speaking with officers. Investigators were back on November 5, when they were seen at the property carrying brown bags.

Brooke Hanlon’s death was classified as a homicide resulting from sharp-force wounds. The postmortem examination, released weeks before police came back, confirmed the cause of death previously disclosed by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. Authorities have not said whether a weapon was found. No arrests have been made, and Conor Hanlon has denied involvement in his wife’s death.

Conor Hanlon was the first to find his wife unresponsive, according to a 911 call. He told the dispatcher there was a laceration on her body and asked for instructions on performing CPR, as well as for emergency responders to arrive immediately.

The couple’s daughter is 1 year old. Neighbors have said Conor Hanlon has often returned to the home and stayed overnight; earlier, he had lived in both Chester and the Boston area. Brooke Hanlon’s family has expressed confidence in law enforcement’s investigation. The prosecutor’s office said it had no updates.
