Motorola Prices Its Signature 27 Flagship at $1,600
Motorola is entering the highest-priced tier of conventional smartphones in the US with the Signature 27, its first ultra-premium slab-style flagship there in six years. The phone costs $1,599 for 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, putting it alongside similarly priced top-end models from Samsung. Preorders open November 19, with sales starting November 26.
The device has a 6.8-inch tandem OLED display, which layers two panels, and Motorola says it can reach 12,000 nits of peak brightness. Its rear cameras include a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 200-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a 50-megapixel ultrawide. A separate motion sensor is designed to help capture moving subjects sharply. The phone also has a 50-megapixel front camera.
Other features include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, a 7,000mAh battery, water and dust resistance, and support for Wi-Fi 8. Charging reaches 90 watts by cable and 50 watts wirelessly, but the phone does not include Qi2 magnetic charging. Motorola promises seven years of operating-system upgrades and says the phone will support GrapheneOS, a privacy-focused Android version.
Motorola is also introducing the Moto Watch Fit 27 and Moto Buds 27. US pricing and launch dates for those products have not been announced. In Europe and the UK, they are expected in the coming weeks; UK prices start at £99.99 for the watch and £179.99 for the earbuds.
