Chris Donisi Chosen as Logan Airport’s First Voice
Chris Donisi, a Massachusetts pipefitter born in East Arlington and now from Burlington, will provide welcoming messages and travel information to passengers at Logan International Airport. Massport announced his selection on November 5, creating a new, unpaid role intended to give airport announcements a local voice.
More than 6,000 people submitted audition videos for the statewide search, which began in September. Donisi advanced to the final eight, whose entries were put to a public vote. He received the most support among the finalists, with 35,000 votes cast overall.
Donisi said his mother encouraged him to apply. He described himself as someone who knows Boston and its people, and said the chance to do voice work in his hometown felt like a natural fit. After making the finalist group, he said, events moved quickly.
Massport CEO Rich Davey said the selection would help travelers recognize the city through the announcements. Donisi acknowledged feeling nervous about the new role but said he was excited to begin and have fun with it.
