Pelicans Rally Past Jazz in Overtime for Fourth Straight Win

Saddiq Bey scored 22 points, including six straight in overtime, as New Orleans finished with a 14-3 run to overcome Utah. Zion Williamson added 23 points, all after halftime, and Derik Queen scored 20, including 14 in the fourth quarter. Dejounte Murray returned from a three-game absence and also scored 20.

Utah’s Keyonte George led all scorers with 39 points. He hit two 3-pointers early in overtime to put the Jazz ahead 110-104. Lauri Markkanen had 21 points and 10 rebounds, and his late 3-pointer in regulation gave Utah a 104-100 lead with 39 seconds left.

Williamson’s driving layup and two free throws by Murray tied the game with 6.4 seconds remaining. George’s pull-up jumper came just after the regulation buzzer, sending the game to overtime. Bey’s off-balance shot with 39 seconds left in overtime put New Orleans ahead 116-112.

The Jazz have lost six straight; their only win this season came against New Orleans. The Pelicans, who began the season with four losses, have now won four in a row. New Orleans played without Trey Murphy III, who was out with knee soreness. Referee Courtney Kirkland left during overtime with an apparent left leg injury, and the game continued with two officials.

Utah visits Dallas on Friday in a West Group A NBA Cup matchup. New Orleans hosts Minnesota that night in a West Group B matchup.
