A.J. Brown Misses Patriots Practice With Ankle and Knee Injuries

Brown sat out as the Patriots began preparing for their game against the Packers at Gillette Stadium. Coach Mike Vrabel was asked whether Brown might go on injured reserve, but he spoke only about the receiver’s condition that day. His answer neither confirmed an injured-reserve move nor ruled Brown out for the game on November 8.

Brown has played three games this season, catching nine passes for 101 yards and no touchdowns. He had three catches in each appearance, with 48 receiving yards in his most recent game, against Chicago. He missed New England’s 24-19 win over Miami on November 1. The Patriots had beaten the Jets 26-19 before losing 30-24 to Chicago.

New England acquired Brown from Philadelphia on June 1, sending the Eagles a 2028 selection in round one and a 2027 selection in round five. Brown had 78 catches for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns in his final season with Philadelphia. He previously played under Vrabel during his first three NFL seasons, after Tennessee took him in round two of the 2019 draft. The November 4 injury report also showed Mack Hollins and Greg Van Roten taking part on a limited basis. Quarterback Drake Maye completed the full session while listed with a right-shoulder designation.
