Bulls Send Dailyn Swain to G League for Playing Time

Chicago plans to send rookies Dailyn Swain, Tobe Awaka and Jaylin Sellers to its G League affiliate for two games on November 6 and 7. The Windy City Bulls will host the Noblesville Boom while the NBA team has a break before facing Philadelphia on November 8.

Coach Tiago Splitter said the team wants the three players to get minutes and repetitions during November. Swain, the 15th pick in June’s draft, has played in just one regular-season game, logging 12 minutes against Boston and scoring two points with four turnovers.

Swain said the G League assignment offers live competition and a chance to improve while he is outside Chicago’s rotation. He plans to work on his on-ball play, releasing his shot more quickly and defending opposing guards. The 21-year-old is expected to rejoin the Bulls for practices when the G League team is not playing.

Matas Buzelis said he has been reviewing film after averaging three turnovers per game early in the season, including five against Philadelphia. He said teams are closing off driving lanes and that he needs to find better ways to attack.

Nic Claxton, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, increased his activity but was not ready to make his Bulls debut on November 4 in New York. The report said momentum was building toward his first appearance during Chicago’s upcoming three-game homestand.
