Stafford Says Elbow Soreness Has Not Limited Him
Matthew Stafford brushed aside concern about his right elbow on November 4, saying he felt good and had not missed a practice or game rep. The Los Angeles Rams quarterback was seen with ice wrapped around the elbow after the team’s November 1 victory over the Chargers at SoFi Stadium.
Coach Sean McVay had said on November 2 that Stafford had experienced soreness, but directed questions about it to the quarterback. Stafford said he routinely iced his arm and described some soreness as unsurprising for a 38-year-old player at this point in the season.
Stafford’s comments came as the Rams deal with a growing list of injuries. Cornerback Jaylen Watson underwent season-ending shoulder surgery on November 4, becoming the third Rams player lost for the season in two weeks. McVay said the team’s injury situation was the worst he had encountered in 10 years, worse even than the Rams’ injury-hit 2022 season, when they finished 5-12. For now, Stafford said his elbow has not affected his availability.
