Toddler Dies After Fall From Bronx Apartment Window

A toddler, aged two, died in a fall from a fifth-floor apartment window in Mott Haven, the Bronx, on November 3. The fall happened at about 10:45 p.m. at a residence along East 138th Street, close to St. Ann’s Avenue, officials said.

The girl fell into an alleyway after pushing aside a folding partition separating a window from an air conditioner in the apartment, according to officials. Her mother was in another room and called 911 after the fall.

The child was taken unconscious and in critical condition to Harlem Hospital. She was later pronounced dead. Officials said they do not suspect criminality in the fall.
